Santiago Vidaurri, Gerónimo Treviño y Francisco Naranjo played an important role in the history of Nuevo León. Because of their military prestige they also served as politicians and businessmen. In the middle of the last century the first industries were started. Dr. José Eleuterio González founded the civil hospital.
